Empower ISI Students and Celebrate Black History!
Throughout the school year, ISI students have been participating in an incentive program called Getting to the B.A.G. In partnership with their schools, we keep track of students' Behavior, Attendance and Grades. Every month if they meet the requirements of the incentive program, students earn special rewards. Students who meet the requirements every month of the ISI school year are rewarded with a trip that includes a visit to a Historically Black College or University. This year, our students will be taking a trip to Washington DC to visit Howard University as well as the Capital Building, the National Museum of African American History and Culture, and other historical sites.
In order to make this trip possible and to fund the 10 students we anticipate receiving this reward, we need to raise $6,500. This will help cover the cost of transportation, housing, and food for the 5-day trip.
There are two ways you can help fund this trip for our students:

Donate directly to this trip, either by check (write “Washington DC Trip” in the memo line) or online (select “Washington DC Trip” under “Fund”). Please submit all donations by March 14.

Purchase Black History Month apparel (details below). Sales end March 14.
Last month we got some help from Greater Impact Prints to design and print sweatshirts for all of our current Iron Sharpens Iron students and mentors to celebrate Black History Month. These sweatshirts celebrate some important historical figures and the work they are known for. We'd like to give you the chance to celebrate with us. You can purchase a sweatshirt or t-shirt (pictured below) and we'll ship it to you. Every purchase also helps ISI students in a very practical way with all profits from these sales going toward the expense of this exciting DC trip.
